Today (February 1st 2023) we are announcing that we are offering free media training to three members of The Heard.

This is in partnership with With, who are donating their time and resources to deliver media training to women and non-binary voices in the fintech industry. This is part of their ongoing commitment as to closing the ‘gender news gap’.

We’re pleased to be able to bring this opportunity to our members, and start 2023 with a bang!

With is an international business communications agency, offering integrated services across insights and strategy, media relations, content and digital marketing. Their all-female senior leadership team will also support speakers from The Heard in building their own media profile pitches.

We want to keep the application process simple. Just email chantalfromtheheard@gmail.com with the following information:

  • Your name and current position
  • What sort of topics you’d be most keen to improve your spokesperson skills for
    • (e.g your corporate story, your key product, current affairs in the industry etc)
  • Reasons why you think you would benefit from free media training
    • (max. 250 words)
  • Whether you have undertaken media training before

We will confirm receipt of every application, so if you don’t hear back from us to confirm, please don’t hesitate to chase.

With will then make the selection of those who will take part, and we’ll be in touch by  Tuesday 28th February. If you are unsuccessful, we will be sure to email you to let you know.

What is media training?

Media training is a form of communication training for working specifically with journalists. The process will prepare you to represent your company, organisation, or specialist topic with real conviction and confidence.

You’ll learn how to predict questions, avoid potential interview traps, and focus on delivering your key messages. Media training can hugely benefit anyone taking a more prominent or public-focused role in their career, even if they’re not speaking explicitly to journalists.

How will this process work?

With will arrange a date and time that works for all three selected speakers, for a session that will be based in London but with the option to dial in remotely. This will be pre-organised ahead of the end of March. The deadline for applications is 12 PM on Tuesday 21st February.

Speakers will then be invited onto the half-day course to learn how to tell their corporate story, pitch themselves as experts, and build their personal brand.

Have any questions?

If you’d like to ask about the process before you apply, simply email any questions over to chantalfromtheheard@gmail.com and hello@withpr.com.
